What Do The Lights On My Modem Mean?
We understand that lights on your modem can be confusing. Are they supposed to all be on? One or two of them are blinking, is that a bad thing? Or a good thing? We’re going to walk you through the lights you’re most likely to see on your modem. Hopefully, we can take some of the confusion away for you (or at least give you a little cheat sheet to check!).
The most common modems Apsis uses are the Smart RG and the Hitron Coda models, so we’ll focus on those, but most modems will have similar lights. The lights could be a simple light next to the labels, or the symbol (or a similar symbol) that lights up.

If your modem isn’t connecting properly, the first thing you should try is unplugging the power cord from the back of the modem. Wait for 30 seconds, and then plug the cord back into the modem. Be prepared that the modem will take a few minutes to turn back on and while it’s booting up, the lights will flicker on and off, and then settle.
